Boston Celtics Daily Dish: Warped Perception Wednesday

Happy Hump Day, Boston Celtics fans!

Missing basketball still?  If you are lucky enough to get NBA TV, then you’re in luck, as Team USA will square off in an exhibition game against the Dominican Republic tonight starting at 7 p.m.

Hey – it’s better than nothing!

I am absolutely certain that a healthy ego and a heap of confidence are necessary evils for those athletes who wish to play their sport professionally.   However, there’s “healthy ego,” and then there’s “delusional.”   Enter James Harden!

If you asked anyone who the best basketball player alive is, most people will answer either LeBron James or Kevin DurantJames Harden‘s name probably doesn’t come up in that conversation unless you are talking to Houston Rockets fans.

However, Harden has enough confidence in himself to say that he believes he is the best player on the planet.

In an interview with’s Scoop Jackson, the Rockets star was very blunt when asked who he thinks is the best player alive . . . .

Before you totally dismiss Harden’s confidence as unfounded, you should at least check out this defense of his abilities by Ben Golliver over at  Then you can dismiss his claim as delusional!

After you read about Harden’s claim, read this piece penned by soon-to-be high school freshman Chase Adams, a young baller out in Chicago who claims his inspiration was none other than the Houdini of the Hardwood, Bob Cousy!

Gosh, I hate to take joy out of other people’s misery . . . unless those other people are the Los Angeles Lakers, and anyone who ever cheered for that team.  Imagine how delighted I was, then, to see that ESPN placed the Lakers atop its 2014-2015 Team Turmoil rankings!  In case you’re wondering, the Boston Celtics didn’t even receive a single vote!  It’s all good in Titletown.

And speaking of those Boston Celtics, here’s a few pieces to tide you over today.  One has to do with a few rookies getting the cold shoulder, and more . . . while the other has to do with our favorite underachiever, who might just retain his title for the 2014-2015 season.
