The Boston Celtics added a pair of veterans in free agency this summer. Both are arriving from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Luka Garza is eager to prove what he can provide with more opportunities. So is Josh Minott.

At Summer League, the latter shared with Hardwood Houdini the messaging he has received so far from Boston's coaching staff.

“Nothing’s given. Everything’s earned. Don’t expect anything," said Minott. "Honestly, that’s everything to me. I just need the opportunity to get the chance to prove who I am and show what I can do.”

What can Josh Minott do for the Celtics?

The six-foot-eight forward averaged 2.6 points in 6.0 minutes across 46 appearances with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. Those numbers don't tell the whole story, though.

When the 22-year-old from Florida got more playing time, he started to shine. Exemplifying that was his career night against the Los Angeles Clippers this season. The three-year veteran produced 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 21 minutes.

Elaborating on what he brings to the table, Minott conveyed, "Providing that Minnesota defense."

As for the other end of the floor?

"Knocking down open shots, running the floor, spacing the floor, just being able to move without the ball, create without the ball, stuff like that."

Minott told Hardwood Houdini he signed with the Celtics because "I feel like I have the opportunity to help win. Simple as that.”

Like Garza, he's eager to prove himself in an opportunity that wasn't available in Minnesota and show why Boston made the right move in betting on him.
