Rajon Rondo Cleared for Full Contact

The day is almost upon us, Celtics fans. At Celtics practice today Coach Stevens informed reporters that Rajon Rondo had indeed been cleared to go full contact at practice. Stevens also said that he doesn’t expect Rajon Rondo to play this month per Boston Globe writer Baxter Holmes.

This is HUGE news for the Celtics as they’ve been patiently waiting for their all-star point guard to return to action. Boston has got serviceable play at the point guard position from Jordan Crawford and Avery Bradley at times but having the luxury of Rajon Rondo makes things a lot easier for Stevens in regards to playcalling.

Patience should be exercised by both the fans and the team as this isn’t something that they should feel the need to rush in. Waiting till January to get him on the court is probably the right move to get him acclimated to practices and developing a rapport with some of the newer players on the roster. He’s a great player but I hope he and the staff exercise as much caution as possible.
