The Celtics took time during the first timeout tonight, with 6:44 left in the first quarter, to pay tribute to the one and only Glen “Big Baby” Davis.
Davis chipped in with six points in over 23 minutes of game action and luckily managed to keep his shorts on for the entire time.
In December, the Celtics traded Davis and Von Wafer to the Magic for Brandon Bass. Bass, who was a former LSU teammate of Davis’, led all scorers with 19 points.
There is no question what Davis brought to the Celtics on a nightly basis, the happy go luck attitude went a long way with fans and it was nice to see him back in the fold, even if it was only for a night. It was also quite nice to see the Celtics lay a beat down on the Magic, a win that helped string together a few wins in a row for the green team.
Either way, Davis meant a lot to the fans and club alike, he’ll always have a place in our hearts and we’ll cheer for him whenever he returns, just as long as he never returns in a certain purple and gold combination.
