Dwyane Wade Has Nothing on Pierce and Rondo

 CELTICS 112   HEAT 106  F/OT

Don’t kid yourself- at 7:34 left in the 4th quarter to put the heat up 89-78, after Haslem hit that jumper, you too thought this game was over. Momentum in the game had swung big time to the home team. As history has had it with the Celtics, when they start losing it on the road, it usually all goes. Just look back no further than the game against Golden State, or the Clippers game.

This game was much different, though. Finally, midway through the 4th the Celtics started to make their comeback. Slowly but surely they started to chip away at the 11 point lead. After big baskets including a 3 by Ray Allen, the C’s grabbed a 4 point lead with just under a minute left in the game. The Heat quickly erased that lead and tied the game at 99 with 5.5 seconds left. If anything, there was releif that atleast the Celtics would have the final shot. Come again. The ball was in bounded to Ray Allen and this happened:

If you didn’t think it was over before, you sure did now with .6 seconds left on the clock down 2. Yup, until Doc pulls out his bag o’ tricks:

This put the game into overtime where the Celtics never looked back as they did in the 4th, after grabbing a 5 point lead with 59 seconds left in OT. This was a huge win for the Celtics. Any win on the road is big but especially this one. This game shows the team they can get it done when all adversity is against them. I think this will bode well for them in the future if this situation comes up again. For now, the C’s have kept pace in the East and stay 1 game atop the Cavs in the loss column at 25-8. Amazing game- very up and down.
