Verizon Center – Washington, DC

8:00 PM ET Tip

The Wizards have lost 2 straight, and are 4-5 at home as the Celtics come storming into town with their 8 game win streak. Washington can play though, and the Celtics can not take them lightly. The Wizards have beaten the Cavs at home, and the Mavs on the road. Their below average 7-12 mark shows no respect to how talented they actually are. The C’s will have to play like they have been on the road so far this year, which has gotten them to a 9-1 road record.

As for some matchups tonight, we will see Rondo vs. Agent 0, and another interesting matchup off the bench is what is likely to be Eddie House on Earl Boynkins. Arenas can score, and tends to put up alot of shots every game. I have a feeling tonight, Rondo will show him that he still has some work to do before he is at the same status he was before he has missed all this time the past couple of years. Now as for the backup guards, Boynkins is fresh into his 14th season in the NBA. Since starting to come off the bench for the Wizards as of November 14th, the vet has been a great contributer on offense. He is averaging 11.1 ppg in 22.5 minutes of play, and is just coming off an 18 point performance against the Pistons. Standing at 5-5 and 133 pounds when soaking wet, Eddie House is not going to be able to take the night off on defense or this guy will sneak around and be a killer off the bench.

Nevermind the game. Just as important is being able to see our old buddy:

Sam I Am. Cassell is an assistant coach on the Washington Wizards. I had always hoped hed stay around and help coach the Celtics. Oh well – I didn’t lose any sleep on it.

As a team, the Celtics need to do exactly what they have on the road thus far this season. Last road trip they did great at getting out early in games and getting the lead to deflate the home team and their crowd. As the game went on, they very rarely let their foot off the gas. Even when they did, their lead they had built was insurmountable. Tonight can be no exception, as the Celtics have had their woes in Washington before. The good start to their mini road trip starts tonight before moving on to play Chicacgo on Saturday.
