TD Garden – Boston, MA
7:30 PM Tip
The Toronto Raptors bring in their average 7-9 record into Boston tonight to play the 11-4 Celtics. The Raptors have lost 5 of their last 7, and the Celtics are looking to stretch the winning streak to 3 heading into the 4 game road trip. Toronto is coming off a game where they got pancaked by the Charlotte Bobcats 116-81.
There is one thing that I can not say about this team and that is their lack of ability in shooting the 3 point shot. They come into the game as a team shooting 39.7% from deep. The C’s will surely have to step their game up in this aspect, if they want to keep up with the Raptors. As a team they sure put up points, however, on the opposite end of the court struggle to stop their opponents. This could be a very high scoring game.
For individual matchups, we will get to see the awesome matchup between Bosh and Garnett. In the past this has been fun to watch as the offense of Bosh goes up against the intense defense of KG. As for the Center position, we have Perkins against Bargnani. I am not sure how much of Perkins we are going to see tonight, as Bargnani likes to play away from the rim at the 3 point line. We may see more minutes from Sheed tonight. Then we have the return of Hedo Turkoglu. He was the killer last year in the game 7 of the playoffs, and it will be up to Pierce to contain the Raptors acquisition.
This is a big game for the Celtics. We can not go into this tough 4 game stretch on the road coming off a loss. None of the upcoming games are cake walks by any means. In order to do so, their key to the game is to limit the success of the Raptors from behind the arc. It sounds repetitive, but this team can’t beat us inside.
Maks sure to tune in for our Pregame, Halftime, and Post Game chat. Soon after the game, scroll down a couple of posts and sit down to listen to the Celtics Stuff Live Postgame show. Then later tonight, or tomorrow morning, check in to see our recap of tonights game.
