Is It Time To Blame Doc Rivers? - Daily Poll

Yesterday’s Results: “Yes, Shelden Williams should be receiving some of Rasheed Wallace’s minutes. At this point it couldn’t hurt.”

Earlier today I did a post here at Hardwood Houdini questioning when, and if, Celtics fans will ever start to put some of the blame for the Celtics struggles on the shoulders of Doc Rivers. From his piss poor rotations to his management of his players on and off the court, he has not done what a great coach should be doing. Now with this poll question I am not asking you if I think we should can Doc tomorrow if given the chance. What I am asking is, is it time to finally use some constructive criticism and put some of this on our coach. So without further ado here is today’s daily poll:

Is it time to blame Doc Rivers for some of the Celtics struggles?

  • Yes (63%, 67 Votes)
  • No (33%, 35 Votes)
  • Let's wait until the team's fully healthy. (4%, 26 Votes)

I think Doc has a large degree of responsibility on how the Celts have been playing lately. From his poor clock management to his dismal timeout strategies, I think Doc should go back to the drawing board and rethink how he has been doing things. I have seen many times that when a teams get to a scoring run, Doc often stubbornly refuses to call a timeout to stem the momentum. When he calls it, its out of reach. Tsk, tsk. Doc should also have a little bit more urgency and fire when correcting players so they do what is required of them. Some players, while they are quite mature, just sometimes have to be reminded on the game plan and what it takes to win peculiar games. Doc needs get his act together.

I am currently watching Doc choke right now. 2nd unit gets a 17 point lead…. he takes out that group that has all the energy and suddenly the lead is at 5 … interesting…

Another game lost – 86 to 84. Bucks playing well lately but one stat seems to stick out like a sore thumb. Team needed points – Ray Allen took a total of 3 SHOTS the entire night.

Could be wrong but seems like Doc’s fault to me to not recognize that and call plays trying to get him looks.
