Antoine Walker Wiggles Into More Trouble

After playing a somewhat successful career in a Boston Celtics uniform Antoine Walker has only gone down hill since. Following his play in Boston he played in Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, and Minnesota but was never more than a bench player. Since having his contract bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies nothing positive has come out of Antoine. He has recently been in trouble for drunk driving and gambling debts that total close to one million dollars. Today more negative news came out about Antoine.

According to the Chicago Tribune apartment buildings managed by two of  Walker’s companies, Walker Ventures LLC and AW Realty LLC, failed to meet public safety requirements. The Tribune released the following report:

Walker Ventures LLC and AW Realty LLC, two real estate companies that list Walker as the principal, are the target of more than a dozen lawsuits alleging poor property management, unpaid debts and damages caused by shoddy repair work.”

A 'hulking public nuisance'

The only thing this can mean is more financial trouble for Walker, a guy who earned around $110 million dollars in his NBA career. Some of the problems in these buildings include mold infestation, insect infestation, poor electrical work, and sewage leaks from pipes. I couldn’t imagine living in any of these conditions, if I was paying money to live here I would be suing Walker as well. Walker stated that these living conditions were not intended on his part, and he stated that he put too much trust in other people to maintain the buildings.

“A lot of financial mistakes throughout my career, and putting trust in other people. I would like to humbly apologize to everyone who has been affected by the failings of my company. It was never intended to present [tenants with] unacceptable living conditions.”

The biggest problem I have with this is how it affected Chicago’s youth and less fortunate people in the area. Walker being a million dollar athlete should be able to maintain these properties, and help these people with ease. If Walker really is in as much financial trouble as we think I have a feeling he will try to make a run back into the NBA.

As a Celtics fan I will say PASS on behalf of Danny Ainge and his staff. For one we don’t need another three point shooting machine, and two we don’t need a guy who’s primary focus won’t be on winning basketball games. Thanks for your time in Boston Antoine, but you can wiggle somewhere else.

You’re an idiot. Pierce can spit at the Cavs bench and threaten kids on the court because their team is out playing him and you are knocking Walker who is broke because he spent most of his money on family and friends? INCLUDING PAUL PIERCE.

Beating the Pathetic Raptors is not recapturing your championship form.lol You are just lucky the Celtics play in the titanic division because if they didn’t they wouldn’t have the best record and an easy division title.

The fact that you are making such stupid comments to say Antoine wasn’t a team player just proves to me you never watched him in a Celtic uniform. You are much like every other Celtic fan that listened to racist Bob Ryan and didn’t show up to game until KEVIN MCHALE gave the Celtic Garnett. The team Ainge put together lost in the second round last year to Orlando.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate you taking the time to put together such a great comment.

I just have a few questions:
    1. Where are you getting your info that Antoine spent all his money on family and friends? Have you been hiding in his wallet? I’d also like to know how you know Antoine spent his money on Pierce, I’m quite sure the Truth has enough money of his own.

    2. Did you forget that although we are in the Atlantic Divison we still play every other team in the east four times a year? The Atlantic Division will probably have 3 playoff teams this year so I don’t know why you are “knocking” on them.

    3. Do people like you ever get bored saying the same thing during every Celtics debate? Bandwagon, Bandwagon, Bandwagon, Mchale gave us Garnett.. blah blah blah, please do yourself a favor and come up with something I’ve never heard. Stop basing your opinion of Celtics fans on two idiots who showed up to a game trying to get on TV by acting like fools and putting a paper bag over their heads.

    4. That team that lost to Orlando in game seven was without KG. If you know basketball not much more needs to be said.

  • Excuse me

    May I say something?

Why should Walker get sued / blamed for the actions of the ones who are SUPPOSED to take care of the buildings?

If anyone should get that “honor”, it’s those dishonorable clowns who fail to fix up the buildings.

Antoine is the principal owners of these companies, as a result he takes all responsibilites for what goes on in HIS company. It is sad, but this is how it works. Somewhere down the line Antoine did not do the right thing, whether it be hiring reliable people or taking things into his own hands.

I get the feeling that Antoine wasn’t a very responsible owner of these buildings considering he was out gambling most of the time. I think if he took more responsiblity as the owner of HIS business this wouldn’t have happened.

As the owner he is responsible for paying all bills and taking care of all issues that need to be taken care of to ensure a safe living environment. He didn’t do this and that is why this is falling on him.

I don’t think that this was intentional by any means. Antoine was great with helping kids during his time in the NBA, I don’t think he would ignore these problems intentionally. What I do think happened is that he simply did not take responsibility when he needed to.

    Thanks for the comment.
