Boston Celtics free agent replacements #2 and #3: Paul Milsap and Mike Scott

Moritz Wagner and Luke Kornet are grouped in here, since both are being integrated into the Cs rotation and neither has pushed too far past the other to really differentiate their future roles in this organization.

Kornet and Wagner came in the same three-way trade for Daniel Theis at the trade deadline, and both have had nice games in green and white.

They are both clearly behind Robert Williams, and Tristan Thompson, though, and even Grant Williams could be prioritized for minutes at the 5 in the postseason.

Then there is the potential that the Boston Celtics take a big man with their 2021 first-round draft pick.

Basically, the Boston big man situation could go a number of ways this offseason.

Perhaps Danny Ainge takes the veteran route and poaches players from potential postseason powers like the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers by signing Paul Milsap and/or Mike Scott.

To bring this piece full circle, both guys were on those 2015-16 Atlanta Hawks, a team that maintained most of the talent from the 60-win 2014-15 Eastern Conference Finals team that had four All-Stars.

Trading in height and length for grit and strength, Ainge can change the identity of the Cs with the addition of either.
