The Boston Celtics are going into 2023-2024 with a “banner 18 or bust” mentality. After falling short in the playoffs once again, albeit deep, they made some high-risk off-season moves, hoping to put together a squad to make the elusive title run fans have been pining after.

The pressure is on for everyone involved: Brad Stevens in the front office, Joe Mazzulla and his new bench of assistants, newly acquired star Kristaps Porzingis, All-NBA stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, and role players like Derrick White and nearly-traded reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Malcolm Brogdon.

What do the upcoming 82 games have in store for the Boston Basketball Celtics?

Boston Celtics In-Season Tournament Schedule

The NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament is set to take place this November, and as such, group play games were revealed before the full schedule release. With still so much uncertainty on how the innovation will pan out, these four games are the only certainty for the Celtics.

  • November 10 vs. Brooklyn
  • November 17 @ Toronto
  • November 24 @ Orlando
  • November 28 vs. Chicago

Group C is fairly balanced, with the Celtics being the clear favorites to come out of the group stage to advance to the single elimination rounds. It’s important to note that while these games are part of the in-season tournament, they also count towards the regular season (besides the championship game). Therefore, regardless of how much anyone cares about the NBA Cup, these games still matter.

Boston Celtics Pre-Season Schedule

As for games that don’t matter much, the Celtics will play five pre-season bouts to get into the swing of things before the opening night matchup in Boston against the rival Miami Heat.

  • October 8 vs. the 76ers
  • October 9 @ the Knicks
  • October 11 @ 76ers
  • October 17 vs. the Knicks
  • October 19 @ the Hornets
