Javonte Green

Javonte Green was an emergency option for Brad Stevens for the 2019-20 season. Green served as an athletic wing who could stay in front of players and finish at the rim with gusto. Fun fact: Green can throw down a between the legs jam from a non-running start.

As exciting as his play-style is, his impact was muted offensively. While he was able to notch a 50 percent clip from inside the arc, his 25 percent rate from downtown makes him borderline unplayable in a playoff series.

Of course Green isn’t meant to serve in that role. He made the C’s after a strong preseason showing where he hit his first eight 3-pointers. His use was always to be that of an emergency option.

With the Boston Celtics looking at three first round picks in the 2020 draft, Green will likely be squeezed off the roster to make way for new blood.
