Joel Embiid is the kind of player you empty out the draft cupboard for. In this iteration of the deal, the Boston Celtics would be dishing out their own pick, plus the Bucks’ and Grizzlies’ picks to land Embiid. The three picks would not all be going to the same place, however.

Philadelphia lands the projected worse of the bunch due to landing another All-Star in Bradley Beal. Beal would help space the 76ers offense and give Simmons and Harris more room to operate. While he obviously won’t replace Embiid’s dominance, he could prove to be a better fit alongside Philadelphia’s core.

The Washington Wizards, set to have John Wall return from an Achilles injury, have been awkwardly rebuilding while trying to win games. They could accomplish both by taking on Hayward’s deal, assuming he opts in to his player option.

If the Sixers are losing Embiid, Beal would be among the best return packages they could get back. Keep in mind, Beal is two years older than Embiid, but has been elite for longer. With the fit being cleaner alongside Simmons, Harris and Horford, this would be a good move on Philadelphia’s end as well.
