The Philadelphia 76ers would be inheriting two of Danny Ainge‘s long-time members of the Boston Celtics roster by trading for both Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart. Smart is the longest-tenured member of the C’s roster, and Brown is right behind him as the second.

This return package is the best for Philadelphia. While of course losing Embiid is going to sting in any form, being able to bolster both the starting lineup and the bench in this deal props up a Philadelphia squad that would be filling in the edges with plenty of draft stock.

Adding a total of four future first rounders allows the Sixers to remain flexible in improving their roster as well, by giving them ammunition to continue making deals. It’s also an extreme return that was similar to the haul that the Clippers received for Paul George.

For the Boston Celtics, they would add Embiid to an All-Star trio of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward. The roster would lack the depth of the past couple of seasons, but has not been a core this solid since the 2007-08 championship squad.

Embiid in green and white would immediately give them a higher ceiling and position them to compete for titles throughout the remainder of Walker’s prime. Embiid and Tatum could eventually grow into a modern-day Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

This keeps the title window open for the next half decade or more.
