In just two weeks, Rajon Rondo will return to TD Garden to face his old team. As one might expect, that game has been bumped up to national television. January 2nd’s game between the Celtics and Mavericks will now be aired on NBA TV.
As Celtics fans know, Rondo tends to play his best ball on national television. Barring something unforeseen happening, Boston figures to be on the other side of National TV Rondo.
According to Ryan Fortin of The Harvard Sports Analysis Collective, who published these stats on March 13, 2013, Rondo’s per game averages on national television are 16.1 points, 10.2 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals.
It will be interesting to see what Rondo conjures up for his return to Causeway Street. The reunion tour actually starts before that when the Mavericks face Paul Pierce and the Washington Wizards on December 30th.
Two nights after Rondo’s return to Boston, he squares off against old nemesis LeBron James. The very next night, Dallas travels to Brooklyn, where Rondo will go head-to-head with Kevin Garnett.
As Jessica Camerato points out, the Mavericks have quite a few games left on their schedule that will be played on ESPN or TNT:
The Mavs have 7 upcoming games this season on ESPN/TNT, so you know what to expect from Rondo then.

Celtics fans will have plenty of opportunities to watch Rondo play and will be able to see him in top form.
