And our celebration of the seven-year anniversary of Kevin Garnett being traded to the Boston Celtics continues!
When you think back about Kevin Garnett and the time he spent playing for the Boston Celtics, certain words naturally come to mind.
Wait – what?
Yes, dear readers: when I reminisce about Kevin Garnett, I remember his burning will to win, his ferocity on the basketball court, and his dogged determination to give TNT’s sideline reporter Craig Sager as hard a time as he possibly could whenever Sager dared to interview him.
Take, for example KG’s interview with Sager after the Boston Celtics dismantled the Knicks in 2008:
And how about after a Boston Celtics victory against the Orlando Magic back in 2009?
Harmless enough – but the motif of busting Sager’s chops over his outfit is still there.
KG would not be so nice later in the 2009 season, however.
Finally, we have KG’s final appearance at an NBA All-Star Game. I enjoy how the interview starts, with KG pretty much ignoring Sager. As usual, though, it’s how the interview ends that makes this yet another classic moment.
Ah, Kevin Garnett! Your time spent in Boston may not have been as long as we would have liked, but damn if you didn’t give us some great memories. Thanks!
