He’s back, Boston Celtics fans!
While the majority of us have been focusing on the play of Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk and other Celtics young ‘uns in the Orlando Summer League, the acquisitions of Tyler Zelling and Evan Turner, and all of the trade rumors involving Kevin Love and Boston’s own Rajon Rondo, a certain big man with a bad-ass nickname has been spending his summer rehabbing his knee in Spain.
Of course I’m talking about Vitor Faverani, who is shooting to be at 90% health when he shows up for the Boston Celtics training camp in September. If you click on that link, I hope you read Spanish!!!!
El Hombre Indestructible has been using his Instagram account to provide some updates on his rehabilitation, but because I’m a stand-up guy, I have provided you with a few glimpses into Faverani’s world, in case you’re too busy/lazy/thoroughly unmotivated to head on over to Instagram.
While I understand Faverani did not light it up in his rookie season, a healthy Vitor should lend toughness to the Celtics’ second unit, and give us some fun “Vitor smash!!!!” moments on Twitter this season. Seriously – that’s all I want from this guy: a few big slams, a block per game, and a whole lotta primal screams. Here’s hoping he’s healthy, super-motivated and just a bit more indestructible when he returns to the States.
