Kevin Love Sweepstakes: Are Boston's Hopes Dashed With Cleveland Willing to Deal Andrew Wiggins?

The Boston Celtics among other teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns are rumored to all be in the race to land Kevin Love, forcing Flip Sanders to realise Kevin Love is going and that they might as well receive pieces for him.

Up until this point, it was assumed the Cavs wanted to hang onto Wiggins, largely because of comments made by Coach David Blatt. However, a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster. And, what James wants, he normally gets.

Not only did The News-Herald have comments on James wanting Kevin Love, so did Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

If the speculation around the Cavaliers wanting Kevin Love is true, are the Celtics’ chances of acquiring Love gone? The Celtics aren’t going to have a more beneficial offer to give Minnesota than what the Cavaliers can supply. However, Danny Ainge can be very creative and persuasive at times, which still has that slim chance Kevin Love can wind up in Boston.

The Celtics were never close on making a deal with Minnesota, as they were hoping that the Wolves wouldn’t find any good offers and hoping they would settle for young assets,  picks and future cap space.  Even that might have required a waiting period of sometime closer to the trade deadline to even consider making the deal.

Bob, I agree. Cleveland is swinging for the fences, but Wiggins looks like a can’t-miss. I would be disappointed if the Cavs shipped him out (and it has nothing to do with whether I want the Celtics to get Love or not).

I tend to lean how you’re thinking bob. Without love, I still have the cavs in the finals. With love on the roster, I think they still lose in the finals. I’m not the biggest fan of love’s intangibles as a superstar. I’m in love with wiggins’ intangibles as a rookie. See where I’m going?

Kevin Love is 25 years old, how is the future not bright with him?

The Cavs will probably only have two years to win it if they proceed on getting love. Money wise, (unless one our both he and LeBron take a pay cut), they just won’t be able to keep them. With Wiggins, they have a chance at a future
