Celtics lose 4th straight, 119-96

Well, that certainly was not the way they wanted to start of their 5 game road trip. A 23 point loss will probably put a damper on things especially when the team is dealing with the loss of a teammate via trade.

While I think that most of this loss has to do with the fact that OKC is just a much better team than Boston, the Courtney Lee trade — which has all but been officially confirmed via press release by the team — probably had an adverse affect on a squad that is already a horrible road team coming into tonight just 5-11 away from TD Garden.

Gonna be very honest and say that there weren’t many positives to take away from tonight.  Avery, Crawford, and Jeff all had solid games shooting the ball, scoring 19,17, and 19 respectively. Humphries came off the bench and continued to provide solid depth.

The defense from the entire team was just very disappointing. It’s asking a lot from any team in the league to slow down Kevin Durant, and Reggie Jackson is developing into a very good player but the ease at which both players scored was very troubling. Jackson seemed to be able to get in the lane whenever he wanted, he was able to beat Avery off the dribble, he knocked down open shots, and he didn’t turn it over that much. It’s one thing if just one player on the opposing side is doing those things but if combine that with Durant then chances are you’re not going to  win. Durant finished with 21 pts on 6-13 shooting(9-10 from the line), 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.

It’s not over Boston still has 4 more games against the best teams in the Western Conference and it doesn’t look too good for the boys in Green. Though, you’re in the mood for a pick me up just read Courtney Lee’s classy thank you on instagram to the Celtics and the fans.
