NBA Morning Links

Morning, Boston Celtics – and by extension, NBA – fans!

We are less than a week away from the Celtics kick-starting their 2013-2014 NBA season on the road against the Toronto Raptors on October 30, and I’m excited.  I understand that the Celtics are almost certainly not a playoffs-caliber team, but there are some players who I believe will provide a lot of entertainment this season.  Kelly Olynyk, Vitor Faverani, and Phil Pressey are young players who should be on your radar – it should be fun to watch them fight for their NBA lives.

Enough from me, though – here is some reading material for your Friday morning enjoyment!

The Cs may be done with the preseason, but there are still some teams working out the kinks.  Get your scores and recaps here. [NBA.com]

Doc Rivers – still a member of the Celtics at heart?  No – he actually had a logical reason for taking care of the Los Angeles Lakers’ banners during Clipper’s home games!  [NBA.com]

Curious what NBA scouts are saying about their opposition?  I am!  Good thing we have this piece, Behind Enemy Lines, to clue us in! [Sports Illustrated]

It’s never too early to start discussing the NBA Finals!   Here is one set of odds for every team’s chances of winning it all in 2014.  [Bleacher Report]

Also: the NBA has decided to lose the 2-3-2 Finals format. [b/r] Finally!

Last but not least: let’s get some Boston Celtics reading in here.  Danny Ainge “absolutely” considers Rajon Rondo the centerpiece of the Celtics’ current rebuild. [Masslive.com] Let’s see how long he sings that tune – I hope he truly means it.

Hope you enjoy the reads!
