Not even 12 hours after the Boston Celtics were reportedly in preliminary trade discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston is now talking to the other Los Angeles team. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports via Marc Spears, the Celtics are discussing a trade that would send Kevin Garnett to the Los Angeles Clippers for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
Two weeks ago there were rumors the Celtics and Clippers were discussing a similar trade, but instead of DeAndre Jordan, Boston would receive Caron Butler. However, with this recent rumor, the Clippers front office is reportedly against the trade because they’re giving up too much in their eyes, but the fact they’re actually in discussions is a sign that they’re at least open to the idea.

Vinny Del Negro wants KG, willing to give Bledsoe/Jordan for him. Clips front office totally against the move. Front office has final say.
Kevin Garnett has said that if he’s not playing for the Celtics he wants to be in Los Angeles. If the Clippers acquired him they will be legitimate contenders in the Western Conference. For the Celtics, if this trade went through, Paul Pierce would be next in line to be moved out of Boston.
As of last night the Celtics have been very active in trade discussions. It’s been reported that Boston is talking a potential trade with the Atlanta Hawks that would send Josh Smith to the Celtics for Brandon Bass and Jeff Green. Danny Ainge has been busy in the last 12 hours, and it’s possible that he doesn’t believe Boston has what it takes to get far in the playoffs, even with the Celtics playing great in the last nine games.
