The NBA has cancelled the first two weeks of the regular season. A move that comes on the heels of a seven hour meeting between the union and league officials Monday.
Reports have been coming out that the meeting was a hail mary attempt to start the season on time. With the two sides so far a part, the decision to cancel the first two weeks comes with little surprise.
As we said earlier, the lockout would need to be settled by December 31st in order to have a season, albeit an abbreviated one, this year. If the year ends with no deal, we’d expect the axe to fall on the remaining games.
