A Miami Heat Way Of Looking At Things

Hardwood Houdini bounced some questions off Chris Malagon, editor of the awesome Miami Heat blog: All U Can Heat, regarding the round two playoff series between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

1. Who wins the series?

I’m sure I will take some heat (no pun) for saying this, but I think the Heat will win in 5 games. Yes Boston dominated the regular season series and seemed too much for Miami, but the loss of Kendrick Perkins has proven to be a disaster. Without a presence on the inside, Wade and James can attack the rim getting Boston into foul trouble and forcing them to play Miami honest, taking away their ability to play the passing lanes.

2. Who takes the last shot for the Heat?

Whoever is open. Too much is made out of the last shot statistic. I believe Boston is actually 3rd on that list of worst percentage in the closing seconds, and I would never count against Ray Allen or Paul Pierce. Having said that, Miami has missed that shot enough for there to be some concern. Ultimately, I think it will be Dwayne Wade.

3. Which member of the Celtics do the Heat fear most?

Rajon Rondo. Lets face it, Mike Bibby has no chance of defending him in a seven game series and he should be able to do whatever he wants when Bibby is guarding him.

4. Why the Heat will win the series?

Athleticism and the loss of Kendrick Perkins will be why the Heat beat the Celtics.

5. Why the Heat will lose the series?

Throughout the season, Miami has failed to beat good teams if one of Miami’s “big 3″ has an inefficient game. Wade, James and Bosh must all be around their averages in order for the Heat to be successful. Being that Boston is a great defensive team, they are very capable of shutting down at least 1 of the 3.
