So Shaq Is Not Out For The Year?

Add another chapter to the Will he/Won’t he saga that is the 2011 season for Shaquille O’Neal and the Boston Celtics. Just as fast a reports surfaced of Shaq’s injury worsening reports began to come out today that Shaq may suit up in game 4 on Sunday in New York.

Said head coach Doc Rivers “If you see him on the trip, that means he’s really close.”

Now, we went through this a million times already this season with Shaq being really close and then getting pulled back and then coming back and then out for a month etc.

At some point you have to wonder if the constant back and forth is just a clever way of keeping the media distracted from the things that actually matter with the team. Let’s face it, stories on whether or not Shaquille O’Neal will return to the lineup draw a lot more attention than a story about the struggles of Jeff Green.

Shaq has been officially ruled out of game 3 and a return in game 4 is a likely as me enjoying Easter dinner with my wife’s strange family.
