Doc Rivers Discusses The All Star Snub

Head coach Doc Rivers spoke about this year’s all star game where not one Celtic was voted in as a starter. On the surface this seems outrageous, how can a team with the best record in the Eastern Conferance not have at least one starter?

Well, as Doc goes onto explain. The snub just sums up the team quite well. The key word being team. The Celtics are pretty close to a complete team and do not have to rely on one or two players to shoulder the entire load. Look what happened when injuries struck the Heat, they could not buy a win. The Celtics have lost, Rondo, KG, Shaq, Perkins and Jermaine O’Neal to injury this season and have not missed a beat. How many times have the reserves stepped up and won a game, Wafer has stepped up, Luke Harangody, Semih Erden, Big Baby, the list goes on. On any given night, Celtics fans can count on someone to step up and make an unexpected contriburtuon making this year’s team something special. This is a team and the team moves forward as one.

Doc Rivers is close to being named the head coach of the Eastern Conferance and would have the option to pick his reserves. KG, Rondo, Pierce and Ray Allen will most likely be picked to join Doc in Los Angeles for the All Star festivities.
