Nate Robinson Brings Flu Bug Over To Celtics

With the recent outbreak of the flu in the Boston Celtics locker room it is beginning to look like in a week or two they may not be able to assemble a ten man roster. Since Nate Robinson was traded to the Celtics on February 19th there has been multiple players that have had to battleflu symptoms. First it was Robinson himself, then Marquis Daniels, and even Paul Pierce. You can now add another name to that list, according to multiple sources Kendrick Perkins missed practice today because of sickness and is not expected to travel with the team to Detroit.

Via Chris Forsberg:

Kendrick Perkins is the latest Celtic player felled by the illness sweeping the team’s locker room.

Perkins is not participating in today’s practice at the Sports Authority Training Center at HealthPoint and is not expected to travel with the team this afternoon when the Celtics trek to Detroit for Tuesday’s battle with the Pistons.

This is just the news that I didn’t want to hear after coming off a loss to the New Jers … (I still can’t stand to say it). As a result of this injury guess who is going to probably get the starting nod? If you guessed Rasheed Wallace then you are correct. Great, just great. I guess at this point in time I’m just going to start expecting the worse from this team and hope that anything better will make me happy.

If there is one thing to get a little excited about it is the return of Paul Pierce to the lineup on Tuesday night. According to multiple sources, including CSNNE’s Rich Levine, Pierce practiced to day and will play Tuesday.

Pierce says he’ll play tomorrow against Detroit

So hey, I guess it’s not all bad news. Let’s just hope they can leave “The Big D” with a win because Celtics fans don’t deserve to be tortured like this forever.
