This weekend sure was one wild roller coaster ride for our beloved Celtics. Like the Ohio Players always say, “Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby. Baby, I wanna ride yeah.” First they put the world on notice with a gigantic win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Then yesterday, that happened. Dwight Howard happened.
Yesterday, Dwight Howard was faster than a speeding bullet and scored eighteen big points. Yesterday, Dwight Howard was more powerful than a locomotive and hauled down fifteen big rebounds. With no KG, there was no answer fo Superman.
Not in my house. Ok, in my house. Know this Celtis Krishnas and NBA fans alike, Howard was the first visiting player to record a 15/15 game against the Celtics in more than two years. Two years! He was the first visiting player to record a 15/15 game against the Celtics since Elton Brand did such a thing. Since Elton Brand scored twenty-six points and grabbed nineteen rebounds for the Clippers back in ’07.
But Howard did Brand one better. Or worse, depending on whose side your own. I’m on the Celtics side. So I say worse. Tomato tomahto. Howard did Brand one better by being the only visiting player with two 15/15 games at TD Banknorth Garden since January 1, 2000. I think I hate me some Dwight Howard.
Roll Celtics, Roll!
