Five-time All-Star Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to the best record in the NBA this season. As the first round of the postseason approaches, Tatum is now the odds-on favorite to win the Eastern Conference Finals Most Valuable Player Award.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Tatum is +110 ($100 bet wins $110) to win the Larry Bird Trophy. Those odds carry an implied probability of 47.62% that Tatum will be named the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Teammate Jaylen Brown is the second favorite at +500, an implied probability of 16.67%.

Tatum has experience winning this award. Two seasons ago, the Duke product led Boston to the NBA Finals by defeating the Heat in an Eastern Conference Finals that went the 7-game distance. Tatum was the inaugural winner of the Larry Bird Trophy for his efforts in that series, which included a 26-point, 10-rebound, 6-assist performance in Boston’s 100-96 win over Miami in Game 7.

Tatum averaged 26.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game during the regular season and set a career-high mark in assists.

Boston the betting favorite in the Eastern Conference

It’s no surprise the star player on the best team is a big favorite to be named MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals. According to DraftKings, Boston has grown to a -200 favorite to win the Eastern Conference and reach the NBA Finals, which is an implied probability of 66.67%.

Boston is one of just two teams with odds less than 12-to-1 to win the NBA Finals. The Celtics are the odds-on favorite, per DraftKings, to win their 18th career title, which would be an NBA record, at +145. After second favorite Denver (+300), the next closest team on the odds board is the Los Angeles Clippers at +1200.
