Last, but certainly not least, we have something that should have happened a hell of a long time ago if you ask us.

The greatest opportunity presented itself this past December when a COVID surge caused by the Omicron variant wiped players out of games due to the Health and Safety protocols at a prolific rate.

Isaiah Thomas, the five-foot-nine messiah in question, found himself signed during this time period, though, returning to the Los Angeles Lakers instead.

The world didn’t need that. The world needs Isaiah Thomas back in a Boston Celtics uniform, though. Now that he’s no longer with the Dallas Mavericks after a total of 13 minutes on the floor, the door is once again open.

It just doesn’t appear as though Brad Stevens is keeping that door wide open for the player that began a streak of seven straight playoff appearances for the former Butler coach before his front office transition. He certainly dodged the question when asked on the Toucher and Rich morning show.

It’s approaching five years since IT was in Boston proving to the world that “Mr. Irrelevant” could be the most relevant guy on the floor. Let’s not reach that anniversary without Thomas having been given one last chance to thrill the TD Garden arena.

Signing Isaiah Thomas would be at worst a locker-room boost and instant crowd energizer, and at best, a viable backup point guard.
