Marcus Smart joins the ‘Joker’

The Denver Nuggets would be one team you would not want to mess with if they were to make a move for Marcus Smart.

Of course, Nikola Jokic looms as the current don in Denver, having whacked Markieff Morris in a matchup with the Miami Heat that got him ejected. Smart in the backcourt as a compliment to Jokic on the block would add two-way talent and a whole lotta toughness to the Nuggets’ starting five.

Boston Celtics PBO Brad Stevens would surely ask for one or more of Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, or Monte Morris in any such scenario.

Minnesota makes the move

The Minnesota Timberwolves are very interesting because they have two players in Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley that would both add a lot of what Smart already does to the C’s lineup.

Smart was drafted a year before Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, so having a trio on the same timeline could be the best way for the Timberwolves to nurture a core that can eventually perennially make the postseason, considering their one appearance in the last 16 years.
