Boston Celtics Juan Hernangomez trade option #3: Miles Bridges

Miles Bridges could find himself not getting the minutes he’s looking for considering the addition of Kelly Oubre this offseason and the existing role Gordon Hayward has on the Charlotte Hornets.

Bridges was a lottery pick in 2018, and like Zach Collins, has improved his shooting slashes each season he’s been in the league.

The Michigan State product has seen what was once a steady starting spot become a semi-permanent reserve role with the addition of Hayward and the rise of P.J. Washington. Even Cody Martin drew just one less start last season than Bridges.

That’s not where many saw his career going given his explosive rim-rocking abilities and ever-improving long distance stroke.

While the prospect of growing in James Borrego’s offensive system alongside 2020-21 Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball is a promising one, a new start in a lineup with two All-Stars and an MVP Candidate competing in the Eastern Conference might offer more upside.

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations should see Bridges as a buy-low candidate if he continues to see others make more of an impact in the Queen City.
