Player #3 playing for Boston Celtics contract: Semi Ojeleye

Semi Ojeleye has been a staple of the Celtics since Jayson Tatum came into the league, making him tied for the third longest tenured member of the roster.

He’s been a stabilizing presence, but he neither raises the C’s ceiling or lowers their floor. His contributions are solid, but he has yet to truly break out and find that steady role in Brad Stevens’ offense.

As a corner 3-point specialist, it is clear what is needed of him, and while he is shooting a career-best 38% this season, he may not be able to secure enough minutes in the postseason to justify another commitment from Danny Ainge and co.

Player #4 playing for Boston Celtics contract: Luke Kornet

While Luke Kornet is technically playing for his next contract down the stretch, the odds of him returning to the team next season are as long as his wingspan. The Vanderbilt product has played in 13 games for the Cs, and their record in those contests is 6-7.

Moritz Wagner got the ax when the Cs added Jabari Parker earlier this year, and that could have easily been Kornet. In fact, Wagner actually started a game when he was in Celtics green, so color HH surprised Kornet didn’t get the ax then.

It’s likely he gets it this offseason, instead.
