Boston Celtics 10-day contract target #1: DeMarcus Cousins

With just two days remaining on the 10-day contract he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, DeMarcus Cousins could soon hit the open market once more. The Clippers seem intent on adding Yogi Ferrell after Patrick Beverly was hit with a health setback, and Cousins’ spot could be used to add him.

CBS’ fantasy basketball staff clearly outlined why you should drop Cousins in fantasy as a subsequent move:

"Cousins has appeared in only two of the Clippers’ four games since signing a 10-day deal with the team, playing 14 total minutes while compiling 10 points (4-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one steal and four turnovers. Even though Serge Ibaka (back) remains without a clear target date for a return, Cousins hasn’t been able to capture a consistent role in head coach Tyronn Lue’s rotation."

In real life, the Boston Celtics would be better off having a high-ceiling/major risk gamble like Cousins than just storing Wagner or Kornet on the bench. He was deemed too much of a winner for the tanking Houston Rockets, and though LA is having a tough time finding a role for him, his passing ability could be a major asset in a Cs offense that has had difficulties racking up assists this season.
