Not so obvious untouchable asset No. 2) Payton Pritchard

Next up on the list we have rookie point guard, Payton Pritchard.

When drafted 26th overall back in November, the majority of people not named Damian Lillard had zero idea about what to think in regard to the four-year Oregon Duck standout.

Though he may have won the Bob Cousy Award, was named a Consensus First-Team All-American, and posted per-game averages of 20.5 points and 5.5 assists during his senior season at the Collegiate level, the 6-1 guard was a relative mystery to shamrock nation.

That said, once the season officially kicked off, it didn’t take long for Pritchard to become a favorite amongst Boston Celtics fans.

From his Duracell Bunny energy levels right out of the game to his game-winning tip-in against the Miami Heat, in less than 10 games the point guard managed to make an impact in a myriad of different ways for this ball club and, in turn, has etched out a respectable 20 minutes per game within this championship-aspiring rotation.

Now, through 36 outings, the Tualatin native finds himself posting averages of 7.2 points, 2.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds on 46 percent shooting from the floor and 41 percent shooting from deep.

Deemed by some as ‘the most important player you’ve never heard of on a contender‘, the impact that Pritchard has provided from day one has been evident, and the Cs seem to have gotten a guy with some real upside moving forward — in our opinion, it could be somewhere in the ballpark of Fred VanVleet upside.

Though the future progressions of the point guard are obviously still a mystery, we believe he’s absolutely worth holding onto past March 25th and, thus, should be off the table in virtually all potential trade negotiations.
