Win-now target for Boston Celtics No. 2) Serge Ibaka

Next up on the docket, we have our favorite impending free agent in veteran big man Serge Ibaka. Playing in his 12th season in the NBA and his fourth year with the Toronto Raptors, the 31-year-old is coming off of one of his best campaigns as a pro.

Through 55 games played Ibaka posted sound averages of 15.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, and just shy of a block per game on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep. His productive play rolled right along into the postseason — as Boston Celtics fans saw first hand — where he found himself averaging 14.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks a game on a stellar 57 percent shooting from the floor and 51 percent shooting from deep.

Oft deeming him as the “ideal fit at center in a Brad Stevens system”  the man referred to as Serge Iblacka would help the Cs both offensively with his sound post-game & floor spacing abilities — shoots 36 percent from deep for his career — as well as defensively, where he is a 3x All-Defensive First-Team selection and a 2x NBA blocks leader — averages 2.1 blocks a game for his career.

Should Ibaka prioritize winning over a specific payday, one of the ideal landing spots for his services would be Boston. In turn, his services would be greatly appreciated and immediately felt with the Cs.
