The Boston Celtics are set to undergo some roster overhaul this offseason. Who might the C’s be able to add in place of impending free agent Javonte Green?

Well folks, it’s at least somewhat clear what the NBA’s offseason calendar is going to look like after the league’s board of governors approved a return to play plan for this summer. The Boston Celtics will have the chance to add to their playoff contending roster this October.

As the colors of leaves are set to change, so too will the colors of so many of the uniforms of the NBA’s free agent and draft pool. While the league will be approaching uncharted waters having their season end in the fall, teams will have an abbreviated period in which they can add and subtract from their rosters come late October.

For the Boston Celtics, the offseason could go a number of different ways. Obviously if this team is able to win it all, why tinker with their roster? After avoiding any deals at the trade deadline and neglecting to sign any free agents off the buyout market–not that there was much of an opportunity with the season being upended in March–the C’s would have no reason to make any moves even to the fringes of their roster.

Failing to win it all means that Danny Ainge and co. have work to be done. Realistically, the C’s will have a few roster members to replace this offseason. Javonte Green, an unsigned restricted free agent, could be someone the team looks to find a replacement for.
