Iman Shumpert

The first name on this list is one that many may have reservations about at this stage of his career. Drafted in 2011, Iman Shumpert has bounced around the league in recent years after finding success as a sixth man for the perennial Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers from 2015-2018.

After leaving the Cavaliers, Shumpert found success in Sacramento before being bought out. He found himself playing a bit role on the Houston Rockets but he went unsigned last summer during free agency.

He latched onto the Brooklyn Nets this past season when the team was facing a plethora of injuries, and while his stats certainly don’t pop off the screen in any positive way (he shot 32 percent overall and 24 percent from the 3-point line), Shumpert seemingly had a winning impact on the team.

Alan Mena of Empire Strikes Back put Shumpert’s Nets sint in perspective perfectly:

"So Shumpert having a positive impact on a struggling Nets team was a breath of fresh air and a perfect example of transparent use of a player’s talents. So don’t be surprised if the Nets sign Shumpert again if he’s available soon."

The Nets didn’t sign him soon, but the C’s could look to add the veteran on a minimum deal this offseason as an upgrade from Javonte Green.
