Jayson Tatum

So everything that was just said about Jaylen Brown could be said for Jayson Tatum, with the caveat that Tatum isn’t due for a raise for another two seasons. That alone should amplify the desire for the Boston Celtics to keep their newly-designated All-Star forward.

Tatum, like Brown would be a seamless fit in the Rockets offense. Though he is an isolation scorer in the same vein as James Harden and Russell Westbrook, his minutes could easily be staggered to make sure Houston has an elite bucket-getter on the floor at all times.

But let’s curb that talk there. The chances of Tatum being traded for Clint Capela are lower than the chances that a meteor once again hurls towards the earth and wipes out the planet.

If Danny Ainge was reluctant to part with Tatum to acquire an All-NBA talent like Anthony Davis, you would have to hack his mind to ever get him to agree to part ways with his 21-year-old phenom to get a center who is most effective between 1-5 feet from the basket.

Dream on, Rockets fans. You are not spearheading your big three with the centerpiece of Boston’s future.
