Boston Celtics Daily Dish: Navicular Fracture Friday!

Morning, Boston Celtics fans!

I hope you didn’t get your hopes set on the Boston Celtics drafting a certain player with the sixth pick in the draft, because the entire NBA Draft projections are now shot to hell thanks to Joel Embiid’s foot injury.

What’s that?  You just crawled out from under a rock and have no idea what I’m talking about?  Let’s take to Twitter to get you caught up!

Yeah – it’s kind of big news.

For those of you who are curious, Embiid fractured the navicular bone, which is supposedly one of  (if not THE) the slowest-healing bones in the body.  Read more about the injury, and some famous NBA players who suffered similar setbacks, here.

The other day I alluded to a mock draft that all of the FanSided NBA editors collaborated on over the past weekend.  Many sites have already published the results, but I was holding off until next week.  Guess I won’t be needing that draft anymore!   Back to the drawing board for me, as well as Bleacher Report – find their revised Mock Draft here.

While many teams are now reluctant to use a top-ten pick on Embiid, it would appear that the Boston Celtics may not be too concerned with the coveted center’s foot surgery:

The stress fracture in Joel Embiid’s right foot will certainly scare some teams away from selecting him near the top of the draft.

But the Boston Celtics aren’t one of them.

In fact, a source tells CSNNE.com that the Celtics will give some serious thought to potentially moving up in the draft to select him.

Boston has kept “all options” open leading up to the draft, including the possibility of moving up from their current No. 6 spot.

More on that from me later!

Finally: yesterday, I encouraged those of you who are all-in on the Celtics’ attempts to trade for Kevin Love to participate in a new drinking game.  From the sound of it, I may have to create a drinking game for Celtics’ point guard Rajon Rondo, as well:

Oof.  This is too much for me to handle – I’m outta here!
