The Washington Wizards are looking to clinch a playoff spot tonight.

The Boston Celtics are looking to get out of the season without any major injuries.

Yeah!  That’s some must-see TV right there, Celtics fans!

I’m sure the Celtics would love to make the Wizards wait a little bit longer to celebrate, but more than anything, the players wearing green and white would like to head into the offseason feeling good about their game.  Ending a ten game road losing streak would certainly go a long way toward that endeavor.

In case you’re wondering, it’s not just a case of road rage the Celtics are looking to end tonight; Boston has lost five in a row, and 10 of 11 overall.  Sure, a bunch of those games have been closely-contested games that one could argue Boston would have won if they had but one more All-Star caliber player on the team.  Still, losses are losses, and I don’t see many NBA players finding solace in moral victories.  The Celtics want to end their season with some wins, and with only eight games left on the schedule, they are running out of opportunities.

At this point of the season, I hope to see rookies Kelly Olynyk and Phil Pressey log some major minutes, along with second-year forward Jared Sullinger.  A starting lineup of Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Olynyk and Sullinger would be fine with me – play some small ball, Brad Stevens, and let the chips fall where they may!

The game is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. tonight, so be sure to follow me on Twitter @HoudiniCeltics as I make the best of tonight’s action.
