According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles, Josh Smith is expected to have five to six suitors in free agency this summer. Like everyone else, Smith is waiting to see where Dwight Howard lands before he makes a decision on where he goes.

The Celtics were big suitors for Smith’s services before the trade deadline and even for a few days in this offseason. Now, however, we are likely out of the running because of the trade of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
Smith is looking for a max contract from a team. With the trades that they have made, the Celtics would offer Smith one. However, the Celtics are likely no longer a destination for Smith at this point because of how the roster has been turned inside out.
Free agency started earlier this morning. Howard is said to not be making his decision until July 10th. We could end up waiting longer than hoped for for a decision from anyone with Howard delaying his for so long.
