The Celtics have been rumored to have an interest in acquiring shooting guard Anthony Parker from the Cleveland Cavilers. With the rash of injuries of late the Celtics need to make a few moves in order to provide depth to the aging/ailing club.
Cleveland is looking for a quality draft pick or a big man with upside in return according to sources. No specification on what they determine to be a “Quality Draft Pick.” As for the big man, Semih Erden is a likely candidate, but the Celtics cannot afford to part with him with the current state of the front court.
Parker is averaging 8.9 points per game on the season and is playing slightly better in February where he has been averaging 11.5 points per game.
My how things have changed in just a few short weeks. When everyone was healthy, you could not really justify a trade and now the Celtics are borderline desperate to make a move in order to help the club. Should be a fun few days as we approach the February 24th
