There're positives in the Boston Celtics needing to blow up the roster down the line

Brad Stevens had a masterstroke of a three-year ascension from successful mid-major (Butler) and Boston Celtics head coach to Executive of the Year and architect of a potential dynasty in the C's front office.

Stevens is so on fire that the heat may resonate for years to come. The roster moves he made not only move the needle toward a repeat in 2024-25, but they keep the team flexible enough to make a move in the future, writes MassLive's Souichi Terada.

"...the front office has put itself in a flexible position with the contracts," Terada prefaced before saying, "Not only did the C’s extend just about all their guys, they’re also on affordable, movable contracts. Plenty of players around the league are difficult to trade because they either cost too much or another factor. But on the Celtics’ front, if and when they move some guys, they should be able to get assets back in any potential deal. So, that’s another positive."

So even if the Cs somehow stop gelling in the title-worthy ways they have, Boston's front office would find away to move the core closer to a title. Don't expect this team to drop off, though.

And thus, don't expect a trade anytime involving the starters. The bench is a different story, however...

Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser trade package could net big return for Boston Celtics

The Payton Pritchard-Sam Hauser trade package that would've been the only reasonable means to shake up the team has now become an ace in the hole with Hauser's four-year, $45 million extension.

A starter-level player can now enter the fold with that money. Boston would have to replenish its ranks with G League guys, but that's what Maine is for.

If not trading one of Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown to truly rock the foundation of the team, Pritchard/Hauser is the likeliest splash now, with one of Derrick White or Jrue Holiday being shipped off behind that. Kristaps Porzingis' value is more to the Cs than any other team given his injury history.
