A lot has happened since the Boston Celtics were crowned the 2024 NBA champions. Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are off and representing Team USA in the 2024 Olympics. Kristaps Porzingis is relaxing every way possible after all of his injuries this past season. Then JD Davidson, Jaden Springer and Jordan Walsh spent time in the Summer League.
The Cs are still active and hooping but Brad Stevens has been making it splash from downtown in his own right. There are a ton of moves within the NBA such as Paul George joining the Philadephia 76ers and Klay Thompson starting anew with the Dallas Mavericks.
But Stevens was able to keep the heart of his roster — it's surreal. Celtics Wire's Justin Quinn believes a repeat-worthy roster has been retained.
"The Boston Celtics did very little in the NBA's 2024 offseason apart from bringing back the team that won the 2024 NBA Championship. But given it was a roster capable of the toughest of team feats in the Association, that plan by the team's front office seems to be a very wise one."Justin Quinn
No blockbuster moves were to be found like last year when Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis ended up at Joe Mazzulla's disposal but this season's offseason is reassuring to say the least.
NBA championship retention for the Boston Celtics
On top of Boston's starting five back for more. Payton Prichard, Xavier Tillman, Luke Kornet and Sam Hauser are hungry, too. Normally, bench players would look elsewhere to find more playing time or an increased paycheck but this is not the case.
Stevens has been on fire and proves why he was elevated to become the franchise's President of Basketball Operations.
The city of Boston is watching a potential dynasty in the making. Their chemistry on and off the court will be outstanding compared to the rest. This past June's title win was sweet but these guys want much more.
Perhaps, a dynasty is unfolding after all.
