The All-Star break has officially come and gone. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown enjoyed a successful weekend, highlighted by a win in the new All-Star Game format. But now, it’s back to business for the Boston Celtics, who have a date with the Philadelphia 76ers on their turf to open up the latter portion of the season.

It’s been a rough season for the Sixers this year, as they just can’t manage to stay healthy. Tyrese Maxey has been incredible this season, but Joel Embiid hasn’t been able to stay on the floor, and Paul George has been a disappointment. Meanwhile, Boston is looking to maintain their spot toward the top of the Eastern Conference.

Here is the Celtics injury report for their game against the 76ers on Thursday, February 20.

  • Eric Gordon OUT (wrist)
  • Kyle Lowry OUT (hip)
  • Justin Edwards OUT (ankle)
  • Jared McCain OUT (meniscus)

The only Celtics player listed on their injury report heading into Thursday night is Xavier Tillman, who is dealing with left knee inflammation. Tillman hasn’t played much this season despite having a strong preseason stint.

Outside of Tillman, however, Boston has a clean injury report, which is great news, considering the state of their team pre-All-Star break.

Before the break, Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday both missed some time, Brown with right knee swelling and Holiday with a right shoulder impingement. Brown missed two games in a row, while Holiday missed four.

The Sixers are pretty banged up heading into their game against the Celtics, but Joel Embiid is slated to play.

Eric Gordon is out with a wrist injury, and Kyle Lowry won’t play due to a hip issue. Rookie Justin Edwards is also out, as he’s set to miss Philadelphia’s next two games (at least) with an ankle injury.

Standout rookie Jared McCain is also out, as he will miss the remainder of the year after tearing his meniscus on December 13. Prior to his injury, McCain was having an incredible season and was a favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award.
