The Boston Celtics have enjoyed a few days off, as well as some extra practice time since their last game, which was a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. As the NBA Cup continues to toll on, the Celtics did not make it, meaning they have been scheduled two other games, including their contest against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the Pistons have had a relatively up-and-down season. They snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over the New York Knicks on Saturday. In the game right before that, they lost to the Celtics at TD Garden, but they are already back.
Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ game against the Pistons on Wednesday, December 12.
Celtics injury report vs. Pistons on Wednesday, December 12
- Sam Hauser OUT (right adductor strain)
- Jaden Springer OUT (non-covid illness)
- Jayson Tatum OUT (right patella tendinopathy)

Pistons injury report vs. Celtics on Wednesday, December 12
- Bobi Klintman OUT (calf)
After leaving Boston’s loss to Memphis early, Sam Hauser was officially on the injury report heading into this one. He was listed as doubtful due to a right adductor strain and later ruled out. With Hauser sidelined, there could be more opportunities for guys like Drew Peterson and Baylor Scheierman.
Jayson Tatum is easily the most significant name on the injury report. He was questionable to play due to the same right patella tendinopathy that has kept him on the report as of late, and he was later officially ruled out.
Though Tatum has been consistently on the injury report lately, he doesn’t like to sit out. He’s only been out for a single game this season, but Wednesday will mark his second.
On top of that, Jordan Walsh is dealing with a left rib contusion. He was questionable but is now available. He played with the Maine Celtics on Sunday. In fact, Walsh asked to play with Maine.
Jaden Springer is the fourth and final player on the injury report, as he is out with a non-covid illness.
The only player on the Pistons’ injury report heading into the contest is rookie Bobi Klintman, who hasn’t appeared in a game this season.
