P.J. Washington

P.J. Washington is counterproductive to what the Charlotte Hornets should be looking to achieve for the rest of the 2022-23 season — that being get into prime position to land Victor Wembanyama. Charlotte can’t be too obvious about tanking, but moving Washington for future draft considerations wouldn’t get them in trouble.

That’s what the Boston Celtics could offer the Hornets, and they have the Juan Hernangomez traded player exception to absorb Washington into. This is a pretty cut-and-dry proposal for the Cs front office.

Verdict: Pursue

Mike Muscala

Mike Muscala has been on the Oklahoma City Thunder for a long time, dating back to the pre-pandemic days where Chris Paul was leading the charge along with Dennis Schroder. Muscala has stuck through lean years afterwards, and he’s been a solid veteran hand throughout his OKC tenure.

Unless the Thunder are sticking around the playoff picture and aim to instead be aggressive at the trade deadline, Muscala may as well be exchanged for something of value — even if it is a second round pick coming from the Boston Celtics front office. Muscala could be what the Cs were hoping Luke Kornet would be.
