Boston Celtics target No. 1) DeMarcus Cousins

Though the Malcolm Brogdon trade from earlier this summer was absolutely an overall win for the Boston Celtics, it did ultimately leave a hole within their frontcourt rotation as they wound up giving up Daniel Theis in the process.

Because of this, a major emphasis when it comes to any potential future player additions should be on bolstering their big man arsenal, and someone like DeMarcus Cousins could end up bringing a ton of value to this team in a trusty backup role.

A 6x All-Star and argued as being the best center in the game for the better part of his first decade in the association, over the last several years the talented big has found himself transitioning from being a franchise cornerstone to a mere reserve and, though it may have taken him a bit of time to get acclimated, this past season we finally saw bench Boogie come alive.

In just 15 minutes played per night during the 2021-22 campaign, Cousins managed to post an impressive stat-line of nine points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and nearly half a block per game on 46 percent shooting from the floor.

On top of the fact that he’s made a name for himself as being a ferocious all-around offensive stud, the big-bodied center also boasts a career defensive rating of 104 and holds a positive plus-minus rating on that end as well, making him an intriguing two-way threat worth considering for Ime Udoka‘s ball club.
