Kemba Walker landing spot #2: Cleveland Cavaliers

Kemba Walker would make a ton of sense for the current iteration of the Cleveland Cavaliers under head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

Bickerstaff has de-emphasized wings in his rotation, starting Lauri Markkanen, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen in the frontcourt. The gamble has paid off, defiant of the supposed small-ball revolution the league was headed for.

Truthfully, that narrative died when both the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks claimed titles the past two seasons. Even the Toronto Raptors were a departure from the small-ball Golden State Warriors dynasty.

Regardless, Cleveland’s big or small with no in between lineups make Walker a floor-spacing fit especially with Collin Sexton out for the year with a torn meniscus. The best part about it is that Walker can focus almost solely on scoring with Ricky Rubio and Darius Garland handling the facilitation duties for the Cavs.

A second unit with Walker, Rubio, and Kevin Love could help Cleveland in the trenches, especially when the postseason rolls around…assuming they hold steady in a playoff spot. Cedi Osman’s contract would be perfect for a swap from a financial perspective.
