Boston Celtics stud: Jayson Tatum

For those of you who are familiar with this ‘studs and duds’ series that we do here at HH, you’re likely aware of the fact that we truly try our best to not list any of the Jays as our “stud” of the night for, frankly, they should always be the team’s far and beyond top performer.

That said, Friday night’s game against the Suns was so bad, we feel as though it would be a lie to put anyone else in this category except for Jayson Tatum, as his supporting cast was simply abysmal throughout the majority of the contest.

In 33 minutes played, the 2x All-Star put up a solid all-around stat line of 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a block.

While his efficiency may not have been at its best, shooting just 40 percent from the field and a putrid 14 percent from deep while also coughing up four turnovers, we certainly give him a pass for a large reason for these lackluster numbers were due to his attempts to try and do more for his team in order to give them a chance of digging themselves out of the hole they found themselves in early on.

From forced shots to forced passes, it was evident that Tatum was trying to get his team back into the game in any way he could think of which, in turn, led to these specific underwhelming turnouts.

That said, of those who logged minutes for the Celtics against the Suns, Jayson Tatum is unequivocally the only player who deserves to be in the conversation as “stud” of the game.
